Another positive court experience! It always helped me reading that the court part of the process wasn't an ordeal. I went today, the clerk was kind and helpful and the judge didn't ask to see me - just stamped my form. One thing I will mention. The clerk said that, had my debts been under £15,000, they are bringing in a new service whereby the whole BR process can be done online with no need for a trip to court and a greatly reduced fee of, she thought, £90. Apologies if this is common knowledge to everyone else but it was news to me so I'll mention it in case it helps anyone else. Finally the clerk praised the efficiency of my preparation and I will pass that praise on to this forum as it is thanks to the generosity of everyone sharing their knowledge & experience.

This refers to the new Debt Relief Order coming into effect on 6th April for debts under £15k and no assets (for thispurpose you need to reside in rented accommodationor with parents and have a car under £1k in value)For anyone interested in this route they have to make an appointment with their local Citizens Advice Bureau as they will be completeing the applications - (£90 fee no court or OR appointment)same restrictions on individual as bankruptcy
