Hi

Im thinking of going back to Thinkbanking as my budget and money management skills are terrible and part of my depression is spending apparently due to compensating something missing from Childhood.

However with whats happening with RBS at the moment, what happens if they go Bankrupt will Thinkbanking go too, or will They be bought by another bank.

Also how does Thinkbanking compare with Coop

Thanks

I had no problem at all when I opened another Cashminder! I didn't need ID and they opened it for me on the phone.

Good luck!

Hi,

I've been trying to open a 2nd cashminder for 6 weeks now!

Got my first open OK but then decided to open a second to keep expenses etc separate - they sent the usual "we need photo ID" etc back so I called and they told me this was not necassary - 2 weeks later they told me it was, then it wasn't, then it was - then they weren't sure.

As my nearest branch is 50 miles away last week I really kicked up a fuss but they still weren't sure - I managed to speak to a supervisor (having had 3 phone back requests ignored) and at last its been sorted - or at least I thought - was supposed to arrive with me today - guess what - they forgot to process it

Still they have guaranteed it will be sorted by next week!

Good luck

Actually that's a really good idea Skippy. I hadn't thought of having 2 cashminder accounts, one for bills and the other for spending money. Makes sense as that way you don't get confused and end up spending the money saved for bills.

Will open one straight away.

How about opening a second Cashminder with the Co-op. You can transfer the money for your bills etc into one, and keep your spending money in the other. I do this with my 2 Nationwide accounts and I know what's in the account is mine.

Just a thought as the Co-op is so much better than Think!

Sorry have no experience of Think banking, but can thoroughly recommend the Co-op account as many people going through the bankruptcy process have found them extremely helpful.

With regard to banks getting into difficulty there are schemes in place so that the individual saver/borrower would not be affected nor lose out so you have no worries on that score
