Made a mistake on expenditure, put clothing down twice. Actual minus figure is £625.60 and I am going to state that my partner meets this shortfall with her savings (thank god she manages money better than me). As I said though, she can't do this forever, can anyone advise how the OR will view this, because ultimately if an IPA is attatched she will have to use more of her savings to meet this. I can honestly say these are expenses that arise for 6 people and I am aiming to work my way into a credit balance in the future. Thanks for all replies so far, anymore greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for your advice, like many others, having lots of sleepless nights at the mo, but that's one less thing to worry about. By the way, I wasn't offended, it's like water of a ducks back to me.

Hi

if your expenditure claims are reasonable and your DI is -£625.60 it is patently impossible for the OR to apply an IPA.

As per our previous exchanges you cannot have an IPA imposed as a result of your partners position as she does not work, she has not declared bankruptcy and her savings cannot be claimed by the OR.

It's a stressful situation I know only too well but do try not to worry on this issue.

If it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck chances are it's a duck. IPA is based on DI, DI is based on income over and above essential expenditure, Unless your expenditure claims are extremely excessive then it can't happen.

(sorry if it seems a little chastising in content - I'm only very keen for you to be able to relax on this issue - try and have a good strong word with yourself - if you get my drift).
Take care

PS. if you are offended in any way this is not my intention and I apologise. You may have many things to worry about in BR, I know, but this isn't one of them in your case)
