Posted - 30 March 2009 : 00:51:39 hi I have my court date on tuesday and having many sleepless nights with worry!!
just wanted to check, I have about £67000 debts that have accumulated since I was 18 years old, I have a mortgaged flat (currently in negative equity) and am currently a student ( in second year). To make ends meet I have been withdrawing cash from my credit cards to pay all payments, and working some cash in hand work to make ends meet as my repayments are about £2000pcm, so have decided to go for bankruptcy as I am exhausted and depressed from this. I have spoken to someone abotu an IVA which I dont qualify for, and tried consolidation loans. I have personal family issues taht I have put on the form, that have led me to addictive spending on crazy amounts, socialising etc to forget my troubles and depression- now I have come to realise I need to file for bankruptcy.
but I am really worried that since my debt is just overspending, which is inevitably irreponsible, is there a risk they wont allow me bankruptcy?I am just desperate for a fresh start. is it likely I will get a BRU? since in 2 years time I wil be a qualified optician, with a good salary.
many thanks for any advice :) |
