Posted - 30 March 2009 : 12:23:47 Can anyone give me any smal reassurance regarding the OR interview. I am told by the court admin dept that my paperwork was sent to the court saturday morning (overtime being worked apparently) so I guess th OR office will get it today or tomorrow. I am i a complete and utter state about this the waiting is making me even more ill I am terrified about the interview although I have completed my form online and submitted and have my paperwork ready to send and in actual fact as I was petitioned by a creditor that I had guarantored something for someone else all my credit cards loans have been paid every month and I was not in effect insolvent until the BR petition was served I have not actually done anything wrong or inapproriate I am just looking for some relief and maybe any from the forum having had a positive experience just to quiet my terror I am bineg sick can not do even the simplest of things at the moment this coupled with my illness does not bode well for me. :O( I guess even negative feedback will at least help me form a picture of how it might go I know every case is different I am just looking for a life line....

Posted - 31 March 2009 : 14:14:03 Hi Charliebucket
Ha ha, I don't think I could get on a horse never mind ride one.
That's made me laugh.
It's just a name I made up and has nothing to do with riding of any sort.
All the best

Many thanks :o) Are you a rider in the equestrian sense? Just thought you might be from your terminology. Thanks again

Posted - 31 March 2009 : 13:57:27 Hi Charliebucket
I know it is nerve wracking awaiting your interview but I'm sure it will not be as bad as you think.
The fellow who interviewed me was really nice and down to earth. He said at the beginning of the interview that he was not there to make any judgement. Just to clarify the facts as to why I went bankrupt.
Just answer the questions asked of you to the best of your ability and do not eleborate on them too much.
My interview was in October and I have only heard from him once since then in December.
So keep calm and take it in your stride because it will be over sooner than you think.
Good Luck

Posted - 31 March 2009 : 08:53:05 I was dreading my OR interview, but it really wasn't as bad as I expected. The examiner wasn't exactly friendly, but she was polite and businesslike, which I think I preferred - I could answer the questions and that was it, there was no small talk! She went through what I'd spent my loans on, and if I couldn't remember I said so, and that wasn't a problem.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll find (like the majority of us) that the thought of it is actually worse than the interview itself x

Posted - 30 March 2009 : 19:19:31 Not had mine yet either, charliebucket, but most postings I have read on the subject say the same as Sparkle83. At my court case a week ago the clerk told me they were now booking well into May for court appointments so just imagine how many people in far worse situations than you the OR speaks to every day. In fact, looking at how well you'd kept up with your payments, I suspect the OR will consider you a breath of fresh air. Hope it goes fine for you.

I was also really really worried about my OR call, but it went really quick, and she was fine when I couldnt remember things, or had to double check things. basically, all they really do is go over why you went BR, what debts you have, what car and bank accounts, and what your I&E is. Hubby and I had ours back to back, and it only took 55 mins for us both.
dont worry, its seriously not as bad ass you're thinking. Afterwards you think 'wow, why was I so stressed' I know we certainly did! |

Posted - 30 March 2009 : 15:54:00 I'm bumping this back up for you charliebucket.
I believe, from what I have read on here, that the OR interview is not as bad as you think, but I've not been through it myself so can't say for definite.
I'm sure someone will come along and allay your fears.
The glimmer gets brighter all the time
