Posted - 31 March 2009 : 20:59:57 i was made bankrupt in august 08. interview with OR in jan 09 - had 3 hour face to face and at the interview the guy said he thought i would get a BRO - he said my case being sent to london and they would decide. didn't hear from them so i rang them yesterday and that guy has left and the lady i spoke to was really lovely... she said initially that my case was closed... then when i mentioned bro she said "oh yes... you have got one on your file for 3 years ending 2011"...
then she said she had better check and call me back.
when she rang me back she said - no you haven't got BRO. there was one on your file but that has now been abandoned and the person dealing with it has left the company and your file has been closed down. she assured me that i def haven't got a bro but i am just worried that my case was "abandoned" and they might suddenly say i have got a bro again?
also she said i don't have to tell the OR if i become employed whilst bankrupt (currently unemployed) - can you confirm this?

Posted - 01 April 2009 : 10:14:57 well at the moment i am not employed which i explained to the lady.. i asked if i get a job do i have to tell them and she said no.. only if i were on an IPA whic i am not.
she said i am not eligable for early release but will automatically be dicharged in august.
i thought you would have to tell them if you became employed but she said that is not the case. i'm still not sure about that though.. you would think you do have to tell them... although it would only be a part time job anyway but i still thought they would want to know - apparantly not..

Posted - 01 April 2009 : 01:20:58 in that case, is it possible you got an early discharge? this is hte only reason I could think it might be closed and you not have to tell them if your income changes...
