Just a message to anyone who is waiting for their OR interview.

I had mine today, a mere week after petitioning. I was given the option of a phone interview or face to face. I chose face to face. I was in there for two and a half hours and I have to say I felt it went better than a phone interview could have. I had all my paperwork with me and was able to refer to letters etc when each issue came up that I wanted to explain.

I realise face to face isn't for everyone, but I really recommend if you have the choice to go for it as I found it very good.

All in all my experiences have been very positive from court to interview and I'm very glad I finally made the decision of sorting my financial life out and having a fresh start.

Anyone who is worrying and wondering - just go for it!!

I must admit I was rather dubious after my first phonecall to discuss my car and make the appointment. The guy sounded about 12 and I wasn't convinced a younger person would understand. I posted about it and Melanie (expert) advised me that however old, they would be well trained and professional - and she was right!

So far Chester has been good, the court staff were very helpful,(i was in a wheelchair) the judge made me feel like a real person not just another debt ridden idiot!,the OR's examiner on the phone was quite pleasant, time will tell how the OR himself treats me , however it goes i will be sure to mention it on th eForum

Hi

I realise that it will affect but a few members of the forum but for the record I too live, and work, in sleepy Dorset, petitioned Bournemouth Court and attended the OR's offices in Richmond Hill, Bournemouth.

In my experience, and for any of our clients declaring BR since then, the whole experience is a positive one. Both the court staff and the examiner's I have found to be understanding, thorough and fair in their deliberations.

So for the small band of members considering bankruptcy and that may be living in Dorset, don't worry, you are in good hands.

paulsc - I'd just ask when you get first contact from OR office - I'm sure they couldn't refuse you if you asked for a face to face interview

Hi Caroline,

I had to wait 2 months to the day! No idea why, except Christmas fell in between, which impacted a bit, but you wouldn't think it would have made that much difference!
