Posted - 07 April 2009 : 14:39:41 Hello, I'm planning to file into bankruptcy as I can't afford to repay all my debts. I'm planning also to move to Spain after I'm discharge, will the bankruptcy affect me for getting credit in a foreign country or will I be able to start afresh? Thanks a lot.

obviously that would be a decision made by the Spanish lender to whom you have made the credit application and I doubt any of us on the forum would be able to pre determine the outcome of such an application.
That said I would assume as an EU country and with you having no Spanish credit history the potential lender would credit check you in the UK.
