got face to face appointment with OR end of this month. What do they ask you the appointment is for 2-3 hours for myself and my husband. I'm thinking that it will be like a visit to the accountants but am worrying myself sick thinking all sorts of things especially after reading about some peoples not so good experiences on here.

Don't panic it really is not that bad!!

I had my meeting in Reading this afternoon and I have worried for the past two weeks; my case was quite complex becasue my BR resulted from the failure of a family business that I was involved in to 2 years ago. The business had been sold but the purchaser failed to meet their obligations under the sale agreement and it has all gone horribly wrong. As i have had no involvement in the business for the past two years I had really struglled with the questionaires and was very stressed this morning. I was shaking like a leaf when I arrived at the office but the lady was very understanding and although the interview was probing and lasted over two hours it really was not that bad. I was given lots of advice and I had worried because our rent is high - we showed her the agreement and althogh she may write to the landlord she jsut gave me the document and said that it was fine and would not be a problem. She examined the income and expendnture and said there would be no IPA unless my circumstances changed. I feel so relieved and gald that it was a face to face interview and I will certainly sleep better tonight,

Well, I can't guarantee you won't get upset, as I say, I did! and when I got out I was so relieved I cried all the way home! but despite that it was a good experience and I've felt so much better since I've been. Good luck!

Hi Caroline, thanks for replying. I am probably worrying too much just want it to be over I think the waiting is probably worse than the actual interview at least I hope so. Just hope I will be able to answer all the questions without getting myself in a state and getting upset.

Hi Lynne.i - the main focus of my interview was going through how and why I got a particularly large loan in jan 2008 - we went through my statements (which I'd brought) and identified where large amounts of the money went and what it was spent on. I had to explain my change of circumstances re my job and why I moved (I'd split with boyfriend at the time). I had a flurry of catalogue activity that I had to explain; also a few disputes with the bank that I had all the correspondence for etc.

it seemed to me that the examiner was trying to build a picture of how, when and why my debts became unmanageble. He was very understanding and straightforward (I got a little upset at one point). I didn't feel judged in any way - and to be honest it was good to finally explain myself properly and where I feel things went wrong.

All in all a positive experience for me and I hope yours and your husbands is as well.
