Posted - 09 April 2009 : 08:26:21 Aren't HSBC wonderful,,,, Telephone call at 08.00 Can you make a payment? , no, when can you? , i won't, why not? i am BR as of 01.04, deal with the OR, no it takes too long for the paperwork to come through, you've been making payments, why can't you make one now? Why are you BR??? I have other creditors than HSBC!! WE WILL CONTINUE TO CALL YOU UNTIL WE HAVE A PAYMENT!!! Do what you want , if i get too many calls you will be reported for Harassment!! GOODBYE (voice as i hung up) its not harassment.................
This highlights how uninformed some of these call centre staff are as regards BR. Even if i were to make a payment the OR would see this as preferential treatment and claim the money back to spread amonst all creditors!!! The attitude of the man was awful "we will keep calling until the account is up to date" HA HA HA Next time i won't answer the security questions or deliberately get them wrong i can waste their time as much as they can waste mine!!!

Posted - 09 April 2009 : 19:54:56 I guarantee it won't be used for any training!
The call centre staff just work from a script and are not interested in anything you have to say.
It's about time they did have some training in what the different debt solutions are and how, once you are either BR or in an IVA they cannot keep hassling you.
The glimmer gets brighter all the time

Posted - 09 April 2009 : 14:37:04 Hi Chester,
HSBC are my biggest creditor (£30,000) and I have had no calls because I went to online banking and changed my number to 1234567890, if you do that I guarantee the calls will stop.
Good Luck, Trish x

Posted - 09 April 2009 : 08:46:59 It amazes me how little these people know!! With BRs increasing, DRO's coming into force and the generally poor financial state of the global population i would have expected better!!!
I deliberately havn't posted some of the other comments he made including assumptions and thinly veiled threats!! I sincerly hope the call was recorded and is used for training purposes of "how not to do things"

Posted - 09 April 2009 : 08:34:00 I had the same problem with Tesco (RBS) - apparently they don't recognise BR!

Posted - 09 April 2009 : 08:33:19 Unfortunately some creditors or more importantly their call centre staff have no idea on debt or its solutions - they just do not understand. As long as you are confident the creditor is on your statement of affiars - you do not have to do anything other than have the pleasure of hanging up on them. The OR will contact all creditors, as this is their role/duty if individual creditors do not update their systems it is not your problem.
Well done for not getting top bothered by it, and of course you are completly correct in your statement that you are unable to pay them, it is also illegal for a creditor to accept payment from/for a debt included in a bankruptcy.
