Posted - 17 April 2009 : 07:36:54 when i was made BR the OR asked about a car that i drive, it is my wifes car and she bought it last June from money that was in her personal account, she paid a figure and that figure was marked as Bankers Draft from her account on the day the car was bought however i picked the car up from the trader and the invoice was made in my name, that trader sent off the paperwork to DVLA saying i bought the car but i notified the trader of that mistake and they wrote to DVLA and the log book returned in my wifes name. Can the OR take her car away? given the fact that it was bought from her account her personal money from a payout from her work some years earlier and the only thing linking me to the car is i am a named driver and the invoice is in my name?

as you have documented evidence that your wife funded the purchase she is the true owner. The OR will no doubt pick up on the fact that you were briefly the registered owner and will want an explanation. But with the evidence at hand you will be fine.
