Posted - 19 April 2009 : 18:49:48 Well \I am sure he will need to look further tbh as if you have only been making 1 pound token payments he will want to see where the money owed has come from. Lying or concealing the truth amounts to perjury & although you don't want to drop your ex in it understandably you could land yourself as well as her in more bother if you don't. Unless you can delay going bankrupt for longer of course. |

Posted - 19 April 2009 : 15:57:52 Hi Marieal
Due to medical and family problems on top of the finance my husband and I are using Reviva as in all honesty we dont have the strenght to go alone, plus they have helped us right with so many things we thought we had to do. They are excellent and very helpful at all times, they are saving us much more than the costs of the service they provide.
It is down to each individual I guess but it certainly helps if you are novices like us who never knew the help and options available
All the best x

Posted - 19 April 2009 : 14:55:44 I agree with Frosie - if you can take someone with you for moral support then it's much easier. I took my boyfriend, and admittedly we argued when we got lost on the way to court, but it was still nice to have someone there.

Posted - 19 April 2009 : 14:27:22 Hi Marieal,
I like Skippy did it myself. Was daunting but this forum helped massively. A tip would be to make sure you go with someone to court as it helps to have someone next to you sorting out your paperwork and having a sound mind!!! I initially got advice from CCCS with a view to trying an IVA but found BR was my best option. Good luck with whatever you decide. |

Posted - 19 April 2009 : 12:19:14 I did it myself as I'm far to mean to pay for a BR company!

Posted - 19 April 2009 : 10:42:42 If you have a look at my blog I've written about pretty much everything that's happened to me from going into my IVA to now.
Although going BR is a scary thought, it's not actually as bad as you imagine. It meant I could move on and my life changed for the better.

Posted - 19 April 2009 : 00:02:37 Hiya Marieal, It might be helpful to look at previous posts, not just active ones,(you may already have done this) for example open up people's names and will give you the opportunity to read historic posts. It might give you a real objective view of things and experiences. You will be able to follow everyones' trials and tribulations. Even though I think I got it sussed think of loads of stuff to ask. Good luck. |

Posted - 18 April 2009 : 23:21:37 No problem. Looking at your previous posts not sure what stage of BR you are at? But the biggest hurdle jumped. I found the realisation, acceptance and subsequent action of doing something about my situation was the best thing I have ever done. Will be quite a bumpy ride I am sure but one for the best. |

Posted - 18 April 2009 : 22:44:21 Hi Marieal, yes I will let you know how the OR meeting goes. I am no expert but as far as I know a person who has a guarantor is not liable for any monies owed by the guarantor only the other way around?
Keep posting on this site, you sound like you have a lot of worries and concerns and I have found the site invaluable. Makes you realise that you are not alone.
