Posted - 22 April 2009 : 12:29:54 Hi, someone I know has moved back to another EU country having lived in the UK for 10 years. Unfortunately their business plans have not come to fruitition and the mothly loan repayments as well as the mortgage will be unpaid in the next couple of months. They understand that they are going to lose their home in the UK, but there is no forseeable hope that they can keep up their repayments. I'd like to find out what is the best way for them to proceed. Thanks

Posted - 23 April 2009 : 07:58:54 Thanks for the replies, yes the person in question is not a UK citizen. I'll give reviva a call. at first I thought it's jsut the case of them coming over to UK and applying for bankruptcy, but it turns out that if they do, their passport may be taken away and they would not be able to return to their current country of residence.
P.S. is it a random coincidence that my profile pic is a broken and crying piggybank? If not, then all newbies get that pic? If so, then that's hardly appropriate or tactful isn't it? Nice way to rub it in... :)

Posted - 22 April 2009 : 12:45:19 It sounds as if this person was not born in the UK, is this the case? If so Paul from RevivaUK has some experience in similar matters so it would be worth this person contacting him to discuss their options - http://www.revivauk.com/
