I finally received a letter from Moonbeever regarding my IPA payments in which they stated payment start on 21 April, even though the letter was dated 22 April and I didn't receive it until 27 April. I phoned them to say that I wasn't expecting to hear from them this month and therefore I didn't have the amount available to make this payment this month now. I phoned them this morning to inform them of this and my first payment will now start on 21 May and I am going to set up a direct debit. I must admit it all sounds a bit of a mess as my OR stated my payments would begin on 1 April, however when I hadn't heard anything from Moonbeever at that point I phoned the OR and asked her when I could expect to hear from Moonbeever and she said she didn't know and it could take them months to arrange the IPA. I asked her if, in the meantime I could use this money for other expenses and she said "yes". Now I have finally heard from Moonbeever, but it is too late to make the payment they have requested this month and the dates are all mixed up. They didn't seem too bothered at Moonbeever and just asked me to set up the direct debit for the monthly payment when I can. I have a feeling that I could've delayed making the first payment for a month or so, if I had wanted. Has anyone else done this with Moonbeever? I guess there's no point in delaying payment though as it will still take the same amount of time to pay it off and its best to get used to not having the IPA as disposable income because you will have to part with it at some point anyway.

Ah that is so comforting. Do you know I reckon I must just do that. Have only ever really bought essentials or things for the home so reckon will go and get myself a "me" thing. Thanks Xmas Baby.

Hi frosie90,

I wouldn't worry too much about having too much disposable income at the moment. From what I gather any DI you have is yours to do with as you want until the IPA is arranged. This is what my OR said to me anyway. Although the OR recommends payment start dates and this is then transferred to Moonbeever, I think its between you and Moonbeever to finally arrange a suitable date in which to start any IPA payments.

If I were you, I would treat myself to something nice and then concern yourself with the IPA repayments when Moonbeever finally get in touch. As I said, I went BK on 6th March and I have only just heard from Moonbeever today and my first IPA payment has been arranged for 21 May.

All the best

I know what you mean Xmas Baby. I have got my telephone meeting tomorrow but this month I had a water rebate from my old house of £79 and no council tax until June as the new borough have only just sorted it so with me now having rent as opposed to mortgage which is drastically less than before plus the extras and no IPA yet I have had more disposable than ever before but I almost feel guilty spending money? I have needed to pay out for things for the new house though but nothing over the top. I don't know how long it will be before I get my IPA sorted. I havent been moved to a nil tax code yet either but suppose it takes time. I was BR on 7th April so only a short while ago. Good luck with everything.
