Posted - 29 April 2009 : 12:41:05 I would say that this would be ok depending upon how much you received and what you did with the money i.e. if you received £1000 and you spent it on a holiday/luxury item even though you have a large amount of debt then it may be frowned upon.

Posted - 29 April 2009 : 12:32:44 If you received the refund prior to filing for bankruptcy you would not need to declare it when you eventually filed for bankruptcy. If however you received the refund whilst bankrupt, you have a duty to inform the OR of any funds you receive, depending on the amount of refund the OR will let you know whether or not the monies need to be paid over to the OR for the benefit of your creditors - this depends totally on the amount you receive.
A pending claim for refund of bank charges should not be a reson to 'stall' for filing for bankruptcy as there is absolutely no guarantee whatsoever that you will in fact receive a refund
