I have a fulltime job but also work one weekend in two to provide extras for my autistic son.Would the OR look at this as disposable income and is it worth dropping this job now I cannot provide details of regular monthly expenditure for it as it changes month by month.
Also is there a guide anywhere as to what is an acceptable amount to claim for outgoings i.e food, electricity etc.

If there are any 'extra' costs such as increased laundry or activites done after school to assit your son you are able to cliam these as additional expenditure. Just claim what you think you require and provide a brief explanation - the OR will always try to accommodate any justfied additional expenditure

Thanks for the information, the link is particularly usefull although the figures do seem a bit out of touch given the price hikes in fuel and cost of living in general over the last couple of years.

There is a very rough guide of amounts that can be claimed for food, etc. at www.insolvency.gov.uk/DocumentLibrary/Policy/Excel/Household%20Expenditur.xls

If you worked a couple of weekends then the OR would also look at this is disposable income. Whether you should drop this job or not would depend on how much you earn. If this income took you above the threshold for an IPA then you would only get between 30% and 50% of this money yourself.
