Posted - 14 June 2009 : 23:49:04 Hello, I am considering bankruptcy, I owe a substantial sum to HSBC and, as my financial situation worsened I opened a new account with Barclays. If I declare bankruptcy will both my HSBC (Very bad debt) and Barclays (No debt owed) accounts be closed?

Posted - 15 June 2009 : 06:56:15 Hi Glennb and welcome to the forum HSBC will be closed. and may be Barclays, I had a debt with Barclays, They offered me a basic account with them instead. I would speak to the OR about it bay be they will not be interested in that account unless the is alot of credit.
