Hi I have just been advised to go bankrupt by an accountant as my circumstances have changed as me and my pater have split up so now I can no longer afford all the repayments. I have placed a charge on my ex partners property, will the courts force him to sell the property if I file for bankruptcy? Also should I stop paying all my credit cards and loans?

If there is equity in the property then the OR will want to release this and could force the sale of the property.

Most people stop paying their loans/cards a couple of months prior to declaring BR in order to save up for the fee.
