Posted - 01 July 2009 : 16:09:04 Can someone clarify for me, after i have been discharged, i get my credit report, then write to all my creditors with a copy of the BR form and the Discharge form, then ask them to update their records ? The ones that show a default after the BR date, i am not sure i follow just what exactly to do about them, can someone just clarify in very simple terms please, as i have at least 1 post BR default now and am expecting them all before the OR has time enough to tell them. |

Posted - 01 July 2009 : 16:38:02 You will need to get copies of all 3 credit files, Experian, Equifax and CallCredit. You then need to write to the data controller for each creditor asking them to mark your file as satisfied or partially satisfied. If they have defaulted you after your BR date they must amend your file to show the default as the date the BR order was made.
If they fail to do this, you can then escalate to the Information Commissioner who has the power to force them to do it.
If you have a look on either the Money Saving Expert or Debt Questions website you'll be able to find some template letters to use.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
