Posted - 04 July 2009 : 23:34:16 Hi Experts, Not really sure of my way forward, my problem is as follows. I'm a 61 year old pensioner, getting frail with an unemployed son at home. He left College last Summer and is currently jobseeking. I have inherited a house which I want to move to, but at the moment I am getting behind trying to pay the bills on both until one is sold. I am also awaiting surery on eyes and abdomen, which I have put off until I move. It's all getting somewhat beyond me. Neither house is in good enough condition to rent out and I need the proceeds from one to fund repairs on the other. I expected to have been moved by now and have arranged for work to be done to the house I'm moving to, but as my other house hasn't sold yet, I'm in a panic.

If you lower the price on one of the properties would it sell? How about if you auctioned it? I 'think' you can put a reserve price on the auction and if it doesn't reach this then you don't have to sell but I am not 100% sure of this.
