Do I have to notify my house contents insurance that I'm bankrupt,and are they likely to cancel it.

Thanks I'v read policy and theres no mention of it.I'm defo changing it anyway when it's up for renewal ,just got a qoute online off coop an it's £100 a year cheaper for £15000 more cover.Can't believe coop have given me a qoute of £64 a year for £32000 worth of cover.

I haven't informed the house insurance company of my bankruptcy. I pay a monthly direct debit and have not received anything from them, so I presume the OR hasn't been in touch with them. I would only imagine they would be interested if you owed them any money, otherwise, why should it matter so long as you're paying your insurance money monthly. I also have cable with Virgin and they haven't suspended my contract, so I assume they are happy as long as I pay my bills on time. Sometimes its best to keep quiet as you could open a can of worms for no reason.

I don't think you have to inform them if you are up to date with the payments.
