can companies that have been included in a bankruptcy, file a default against you later on in a couple of years after you have been discharged

just one other thing, on my credit file, should the bankruptcy only be on the address I was living at when I was made bankrupt as it has been entered on the address I was at and my new address.

The default is often just a way of the credit company closing your file

If the company has defaulted you after the date of your BR you can ask them to remove it once you are discharged and they have to do so. If you have a look at my blog I've written how to do this, and put in the template letter I used.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Sorry, I thought you meant that you had received a letter demanding payment for a defaulted payment.

The default on the credit file will stay there for 6 years from the date your were BR.

[/quote] so does this mean that they cannot have this default on my credit file and would you know how i can get it taken off?

No, if their debts are included in your BR then they have been written off. If you have received a letter then contact the creditor and remind them of your BR. If they persist then forward the letters to the OR.
