Posted - 12 August 2009 : 11:34:24 well as i have posted on here im now discharged and it feels good! but one of debts i took in to my bankruptcy, are now after my wife as it was in joint names. my wifes parents have agreed with the firm a full and final settlement figure for the debt can you experts tell me what should be in the firms letter saying they have accepted this figure in f and f settlement of the account help!
If you mean what should the creditor put in their letter saying that they have accepted the figure then you should make sure that things like the following are included:
- The credit/loan agreement reference - Confirmation of the F&F amount that they have accepted - Confirmation that they will update the credit details with the credit reference agencies (Equifax, CallCredit and Experian) that this debt has been paid off. You should allow them 28 days to update the records
Other people will probably add a couple of other things as well but those are the one's that I can think of at the moment.
