hi, please can you tell me what happens to your mobile phone contract after br. i heard they cancel it immediately. does this happen if you do not owe the mobile company any money and have never been behind with payment or is it just a standard thing that happens. many thanks for your help . joanne

I think it depends on the phone provider. I was with 3 and never in arrears etc. They suddenly switched me off. I presume it was once the OR had contacted them. The OR asked me for details of the contract even though I owed them nothing and was up-to-date. Without knowing it 3 actually did me a favour. I was in the contract until Dec 2009, they cocked up my voice minutes and said I had used all of them when in fact I had barely made any calls. As they switched me off I have paid them nothing and am rid of the contract.

The contract shouldn't be cancelled if you have kept up to date with the payments. If you are behind on payments and have included this amount in the BR then, I would imagine, the contract would be cancelled.
