Posted - 13 September 2009 : 16:18:04 I was quite surprised they didn't query my petrol allowance as it was quite high - I only worked 5 miles from home, but as I was sitting in solid traffic most of the way I used a lot more petrol!

Posted - 13 September 2009 : 15:39:41 it looks like everyone is asked for different things depending on your case i have a very high petrol allowance so i can understand them asking for this. |

Posted - 13 September 2009 : 11:11:15 I was asked for bank statements, credit card statements and loan agreements but nothing else.
I live with my partner and I was never asked for proof of how much 'rent' I pay him, bills or petrol receipts.

I am not sure if it is usual or not but the OR wanted them from me. I suppose they wanted proof that the car was being used so it was taxed, insured and MoT'd.
The OR was quick enough to ask for the car docs and my rental agreement but has never asked me for bank statements, pay slips, credit card statements, etc., which I would have expected. I suppose different OR offices do things differently. |

Posted - 12 September 2009 : 07:59:44 Cannot say for sure. The only problem I have found with the OR office is the "wait and see." They do not really tell you of the process. A friend has heard nothing, zilch since the interivew and is still wondering if they will give him an IPA. This is 4 mths, I said unlikely now but they only seem to tell you when something happens. You have been told that you will not have an IPA and I think that you can take this as definate. Good news there. I was BR in March and had interview 2 weeks later. My Or said ,during t/c interview that she thought I would have an IPA of around 100 and asked if I thought that was OK and could challenge this if I disagreed or could not manage this,"would look at figures and ring me back", which she did 2 hrs later. My IPA was 108 Once interview and decisions re I&E etc. then it is only likely to be a few weeks to get the confirmation in writing. I would say that they have a good idea during interview and are unlikely to change their mind now re your circs.I was also allowed to keep my car, 2500, for work but they did not ask for any documents. It then took a few months to get the info from Moon Beavers to set up payments. Also a month went by with no contact from OR but they then wrote about an Insurance policy. I think you can be confident about anything discussed in interview ie your IPA -or rather not- and the cars. In July/August I was notified that the OR had finished their bit and transferred me to RTLU. I rang them this week re a pay rise and they were equally as nice and helpful as OR office. It sound as if your case is very straight forward and once discharged it will be over. Isn't the stress relief great?

Posted - 11 September 2009 : 18:03:02 Good news, newbee. I thought it sounded strange that the OR would ask how much you thought you could pay as an IPA as the OR would normally tell you how much you would be paying.
After the initial interview the OR presents a report to their Supervisor and they will have a look at the OR's recommendations and look at the I&E, whether a car can be kept, etc. so everything is looking good.
You should receive a letter from the OR confirming the exemption of the cars and will probably have to provide a copy of the MoT, car tax and insurance to show they are legally on the road and being used. |

Posted - 10 September 2009 : 19:04:46 It sounds like you have got a very good OR there newbee. You should have a NT tax code although this can sometimes depend on how much tax you pay. If it is around £100 then the OR may decide it is not worth the effort. |
