Has anyone been to the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand, London for their bankruptcy. I'm going tomorrow and wondered where about I need to go (I know it's a massive building) and what time I should get there etc. etc.

Thanks.

Hi

it opens earlier but the Fees Office doesn't open until 10.

you go through the main doors, through the metal detectors and turn immediate right and aim for the Court Fees - office. This is a 5 minute walk.

you go to the window and give them your completed Statement of Affairs plus £522. they will stamp the front of the SOA and give you a receipt.

Next you go back to the main hall , go to the end, turn left and follow the signs for the Thomas Moore Building. This is a modern building at the back of the Main building.

Go to the second floor and wait in line until a clerk is free to go through the paperwork with you.

If all is OK you will be asked to return ( to the room on the 1st floor ) at 2.30 to collect your certificate.

Hope that helps.

There are a number of toilets along the main hall and a pleasant coffee shop at the end of the hall.

Alternatively there are some reasonable coffee shops around the corner !

From what others have said they open at 10am and it is best to get there at this time or a little earlier. I believe you are handed a map, which shows you where to go.

After paying the £522 fee and handing in the SOA you are then asked to return later that day (1 or 2pm) when you are officially declared BR.

Good luck tomorrow.
