Just thought I would mention my experience today for anyone going BR in Plymouth and looking to open a cashminder account. I went into the branch this morning in Plymouth and was told they are only opened by appointment as they are so popular and I couldnt get an appointment for a week. As I am due to be paid this week I was horrified. ANyway I made appointment but went home and telephoned the number on their leaflet and was able to do it straight away. The guy was quite shocked that I had been told I couldnt do it instantly. Good news was I got accepted there and then and now have to go back into branch with ID which I am doing tomorrow. Main thing is there was no problem opening the account although I am BR.

Good luck with the interview, let us know how you get on, I go for BR on Monday so wont be far behind and do find it reassuring to hear how others have got on.

The interview will be fine, just remember to be honest with the OR and no matter how you got into debt it won't be something that they haven't heard before.

It sounds like the Co-op branch probably wanted to sit down with you and fill the forms in to open an account. As the call centre are able to do that there and then the account could be opened instantly. It's definitely better to speak to the Co-op over the phone and they have always been very helpful whenever I have called.

I have my telephone interview tomorrow at 10am and I must admit im not looking forward to it. I guess this is the time the tricky questions come. I really dont have an easy answer as to why this has happened and I know im going to get very tongue tied. Roll on this time tomorrow eh

Hi

Glad you have an account with the Co-op. I know they are very very busy!! In May when i went it was instant - a sign of the worsening of the recession!!

I hope the BR goes well as I have said to you before, I have found Plymouth OR to be great - good luck, Richard

That's great that you were finally able to open an account with Cooperative Bank. Unfortunately the bank is under increasing pressure from the volume of peope becoming bankrupt. All banks are supposed to offer bankrupts bank accounts but very few adhere to this except the Cooperative.

All the very best.
