Posted - 08 October 2009 : 10:25:40 In your reply to my first question regarding making myself bankrupt, you said that you had some successes with walk away leases. I took a Lease on my shop in my sole name in March 2007. I now find because of the recession that I can barely meet all my bills, i.e. rent, business rates, gas, electricity etc. The shop I have is a beauty and sunbed shop. Because of all the press regarding sunbeds, I think this could be the reason for lack of clientele. Could you tell me more about walk away lease. I really cannot afford to carry on much longer and I dont think bankruptcy is an option. Whilst writing I would mention that when I opened my shop I bought two sunbeds on finance. In the contract the items are stated as "new". I had a sunbed engineer call yesterday as one of the sunbeds is not working. He told me that the sunbed was over 12 years old and it would be difficult to get the parts. Where do I stand legally on this as I think I have been mis-sold these beds. I still owe money on them and cannot afford to pay the monthly instalments of over £500 per month.
