What will the OR ask at my interview? Didn't sleep a wink last night not because my court date is now just 2 weeks away (everyone says it's not so bad) but I'm worried to death over what the OR will want to know when we're interviewed. All our debts are what has crept up on us over the years transferring balances from one credit card to another -we also have no assets whatsoever so what else will he need to know? Please would love to hear of anyones experiences with the OR.Thank you so much Katie

Are you having a face-to-face interview? If so call the OR and ask if you need to bring anything (bank statements, etc.) with you.

I had a telephone interview and just had the SOA in front of me. The OR will ask for account details and monthly repayments of any loans so make sure you have this information but it is normally in the SOA any way.

Hi Worry!

Try not to think too much about this. I was in exactly the same position before I decided on bankruptcy. I delayed it and delayed it as I was so worried about the OR interview, but then decided I couldn't put it off any longer. In retrospect I wish I had done it sooner as the interview was no problem. It was over the phone and the OR just wanted to know a few things that I had listed on my SOA, and also how I had got into debt. I was a little embarrased as some of my debts were incurred through gambling and I knew this would be frowned upon. However, she didn't make a big thing of it and didn't really probe too deeply. In total, I had 2 phone calls lasting about half and hour each and that was that. I haven't heard anything else since March and I am really hoping I don't end up with a BRO. Only 5 months left before discharge.

I'm sure everything will be fine with you. Good luck.

Try not to worry. They will just go through the SOA making sure that you have put the correct creditor details, etc. and maybe ask for some more information about how you got into debt. They will also go through your I&E.

It's nothing to worry about and the OR is very non-judgemental.
