Posted - 13 October 2009 : 15:45:45 Advise needed please my husband had to close down his buiness this year due to customers going bust on him.we have a problem with a creditor how is taking him to court in November. He wants to contest and has issued a defense as he has been over charged by half of what they are claiming. The problem is that he is suffering from depression and panic attacks and is on medication from the doctor. He feels he cannot attend court to defend this claim, should he contact the court and inform them of this and admit liability and offer a monthly payment or if he just doesn't go to court-what will be the out come?I have read on some of the posts that if you dont attend court you get a CCJ issued against you and you get a letter saying you must pay in full or a CCJ will be issued. At that point if he makes an offer to the court will this stop the baliffs, this is not a problem as our credit now has a number of defaults.C-C
