Posted - 13 October 2009 : 19:43:00 IPA after Discharge
My OR sent me an IPA document, which basically asked for a monthly contribution from the savings I was making from having an NT tax code.
However, the HMRC have refused to give me an NT tax code and after I asked her a series of very complex questions she has not replied (8 weeks have gone by).
As I will not sign-up to anything until my questions have been answered, and I have plenty more, will she still be able to put an IPA in place after my 12 months is up and I am automatically discharged?

Posted - 14 October 2009 : 08:20:19 An IPA cannot be implemented once you have been discharged. The OR would normally contact HMRC and advise you are BR and to request that you have a NT tax code until the end of the financial year. If HMRC have refused to implement the NT Tax Code then you should let the OR know.
If the NT tax code isn't implemented then you should continue to pay the income tax to HMRC rather than the OR.
