Posted - 15 October 2009 : 18:45:05 As per previous advice given on this website I've filled in my soa form based on info as at this week for tomorrows hearing. However, I have just begun my maternity leave and am due to give birth shortly which results in our outgoings increasing and our incomings decreasing. I reckon by the time the OR gets around to interviewing us we will have a further addition to our family. Will I have opportunity to discuss this with the OR before they decide on what our monthly payment will be, as the info on forms won;t be correct then. Also, generally how long does it take between the court hearing and the setting up of your first payment? Do you have any say in what date's best to pay each month etc.

Posted - 15 October 2009 : 20:38:55 Thanks for this. I've already started my mat leave, I finished work last friday but not due my wage until the end of the month so just worked off previous wage slips for the soa. Like you say I can inform OR at interview.
Are we allowed to spend any surplus we have, i.e what will normally make up our IPA, in the months until sorted? Starting to worry about buying xmas gifts but if its likely to take until after xmas to sort payments out we might manage!!!

Posted - 15 October 2009 : 19:12:18 When you have the interview mention to the OR that your income has/is about to change. The interview is normally about 2 weeks after declaring BR but the first IPA payment is about 3 months after BR. Once you start maternity leave just contact the OR to let them know and they will send you a new I&E to complete.
