Are you allowed anything on your SOA for a basic satellite package? I thought you were, but on another site I use people are saying you are not.

don't get me started on Virgin................

Hi Charlie, we kept out virgin tv, it was £33 per month for tel, tv and internet so we just put the £33 down as a telephone charge and were never questioned about it, I think your allowed upto £50 per month anyway for telephone so it was under that.

We have kept all our channels, thank god! Although we have to re-tune again in November and December, and I hope we don't lose any then, I would be lost without Five. We did gain a couple of channels but I have not watched them, Quest and another one I forget the name of.

We had just bought a Freeview plus box the week before we had to retune but that one was faulty so we took it back and ended up paying a bit more for a better one, with a very large hard drive and loads of recording time and so far, its been brilliant. I do not watch "normal" tv at all now, no more adverts. I just record everything I want to watch and skip the ads.

Have you still got all of your Freeview channels Jane? Since their stupid retuning Dave's mum has lost some of hers.

Personally if we had to give up Sky I'd choose Freesat, as so far I've been very unimpressed with Freeview.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

27 IPA payments made, 9 to go - in single figures!

Thanks for the replies, I was getting mixed up with an IVA and BR SOA.
Jane.l Posted - 21 October 2009 : 12:51:59
This would have to come out of your surplus income

remember in bankruptcy not all the surplus is taken whereas in an IVA, ALL your disposable income is taken so this is where in an IVA, they may be an allowance for a basic Sky package

Personally, I think getting rid of Sky was the best thing we ever did, we just have Freeview now and have just bought a Freeview plus recorder, its ace, all the best shows I think are on Five and I just record them all at night. Sky was just all repeats when we had it

As far as i am aware you are not allowed, if you wanted to keep sky you would probably have to take this out of your household food etc and pay the bills with cash
