Posted - 27 October 2009 : 08:16:23 If you are on a low income or benefits based income it is possible to get a voucher to fund the whole costs of filing for bankruptcy (provided you have an utility account in your name). Contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau - they process the voucher scheme on behalf on energy companies. A similar scheme is operated by SSAFRA the armed forces organisation who will fund bankruptcy for ex service personnel
Other than that the fees are £360 Official Receiver fee and £150 court fee (though the court fee is waived if you are in receipt of qualifying benefits - if you contact the court and ask for a bankruptcy pack - a form comes with the paperwork giveing full detils of exemptions etc
