Posted - 28 October 2009 : 21:53:01 I am looking into getting a debt management plan and they want to know how much I spend each month. I obviously want to have some money left over, so was going to say i spend more on petrol and food than I acutally do etc. Is this advisable and will they check that I actually spend this, and does anyone have a budget sheet that shows exactly what I would be allowed to budget for each month?

Posted - 28 October 2009 : 22:14:21 I totally agree Skippy. It is not a good idea to put down more than you are spending. It is dishonest for one thing, and the whole idea of you doing a DMP is to pay back your creditors in full in the shortest possible time.

Posted - 28 October 2009 : 21:59:55 You need to put down what you actually spend. I'm certainly not going to say it's ok to lie about your expenditure, and don't forget you can be asked to prove what you spend.
The quicker you pay the money back the quicker the DMP will be over with.
