I was recently discharged from BR and am beginning the process of cleaning up my credit file. One of my debts was a joint loan with an ex-partner and I wondered whether the lender is obliged to mark the loan as 'settled' on my credit report or will this only happen once the loan has been resolved by my ex? If I have to await the latter, is there anythng else that I can do? It is highly unlikely that my ex will be able to pay off this debt.
As always, thanks for any advice on this matter.

Posted - 03 November 2009 : 23:47:03 you should file a notice of disassociation on your credit files as you no longer have financial connections with your ex. and your liability to the loan has been cleared so after discharge your credit file should show settled or partly settled
