Hi, we have our interview with the OR on friday the 6th nov. I am currently filling out the PIQB form and question 3.1 asks if we have had any bank accounts in our name over the last two years. Up until 2 months ago we had a Abbey saving account in which we had about £600 pounds saved towards christmas. Once i knew about the br date i withdrew the money and closed the account.If i dont tell the OR, will he be able to find out about the account? |

I had about £500 in a Nationwide ISA account and withdrew nearly all of it before the banruptcy. I was honest about the account but said I withdrew the money for the court fees. They were absolutely fine with that. Good luck for tomorrow. |

Dean,
The worse cased scenario would be a BRO, which would see BR restrictions in place for 24months plus (unlikely). But if you try to withhold this info from the OR, he will adopt a severe stance with you when he (NOT IF)finds out.

honesty is good call
my wife had some money in her account (about same amount as you) the OR said keep it in her account as it was the family food money fort he rest of the month (until pay day)
do you need the money for court fees ? |

Dean,
As Housing states just be honest, and explain why you withdrew and what you used the money for.
The OR uses a system called Experian Citizen, and he will undertake a credit search, and thus will see all live and dormant accounts you have held over the past 6 years - he will find out if you are trying to conceal accounts.

Welcome to this forum.
I think to try to conceal an account and the £600 would be folly. It seems a small amount - however, the OR has powers that would surprise you and would be very cross and may even put a restriction on your BR if (but more likely when) he found out.
My advice, be open and honest from the start - althoughthe OR will be looking after your creditors interests, he/she will be reasonable with you - provided you play fair and honest.
I am sure any expert on the forum will say the same.
