Is it possible to see if we can buy a house if we have been discharged from bankcruptcy in oct but our old house was voluntary handed back, and hasnt been sold as yet (the house is over 140 miles away so no way of us keeping it)?

Also, what would you use as a deposit because you will require a substancial one in todays climate & if you have only just come out of bankruptcy you shouldn't have any capital.

Glad you are now discharged.
I assume that you are renting at the moment or staying with family or friends at present.
I am not an expert on finance, but suspect the chandce of getting a mortgage straight awayt after DC is not very lilely.
Why do you want to buy again when It ended in tears? It is none of my buisness and \i am not trying to be rude or make any judgment (God forbidO I made a real mess of the last few year and more recently 6/7 months - all of our situations are different and you need to discuss with each other and maybe meet up or email at leaset a real finance expert - I do not mean a mortgage adviser (no disrespect to them - I know dozens!!
Insolvency is where you were and you need the follow on advice to get you to the next stage - Try Melanie and Paul (I do not suggest them lightly, they have the greatest skills and will keep you focised post BR.
