No, you're not being thick at all - I have now updated my blog and added the relevant information! All of the text in bold needs to be sent to the data controller.

Although you would think that all 3 credit files are the same, they're not. The least reliable is Call Credit.

When you've got your files you will need to check that the information they hold about you is correct and if not, write to the agency asking them to put it right.

You will need to contact the data controller for each of your creditors (using the letter) asking them to ensure that any default date is no later than the date of your BR, and to mark the entry either satisfied or partially satisfied.

They should write back and say they have done this, although not all of them do. I wrote to all of my creditors and only some replied, but the others (apart from Tesco) had amended my files when I ordered them again.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Hi Skippy, thanks for your blogg it is very helpful. Just a few questions though:

1. what is the relevant information provided by the Information Commissioner that you said you would attach to letter?

2.why do i need to get copies of credit record form three companies (are they not all the same) and then once got them what do i need to do with them.

Sorry if i sound thick but want to do this right!

Thanks

Jen

for starting to clear your credit file it may be necessary to conatct the creditors to ensure all debts show as settled or partially settled and not default

You shouldn't really need to communicate with your creditors as the OR would have informed them of his intention to apply to court for an ED for you. He asks them if there are any objections.

All the best

Congratulations!

If you have a look at my blog there is a letter that I sent to my creditors and other details of what I had to do.

Good luck, and if you have any questions just ask x
