Posted - 25 November 2009 : 14:16:36 Just got back from court and I can only reitterate what people have already said, very low key affair and nothing to be afraid of. Saw the clerk who went through our papers, signed where we had to, wife swore on bible, I didn`t as I am not religious, paid our fees then went to see the judge. Waited for approx 5 minutes and then the clerk took us to see her. A very pleasant and welcoming person she was as well. Asked us a couple of questions then declared us BR, was only in with her for 2 minutes and then she wished us well for the future. Then had a little wait for the BR documents and then had a call from the OR. This lasted about 5 minutes where she asked a few questions, said she had no interest in our Coop Cashminder account but told me to ring them and let them know. Appointments booked (telephone) for 8th of December. Once finished the clerk shook our hands and wished us all the best. I kind of feel numb, no sense of elation (not that I would expect any) no sense of relief, very hard to explain really, just glad that this part is out of the way..
Thanks to everbody who helped and advised mo over the past few weeks....

Posted - 25 November 2009 : 21:03:27 A big relief isn't it? I'm just a week ahead of you, I have the phone call to the Official Receiver booked for tomorrow.
The big surprise (and I guess it shouldn't have been) was how lovely everyone at the court was - in fact on looking through these forums I can't see a bad experience documented.
I'm not worried about talking with the Official Receiver tomorrow (ok, maybe just a little), but I know they will be professional and talk to me like a human being - which is a damned lot better than a few banks I could name!
Hope you manage to sleep better now, I certainly know that I do!

Posted - 25 November 2009 : 16:12:22 Congratulations Charlie.
Glad it went OK for you. Can I ask are you having a tele interview with the OR? I remember mine like it was yesterday - it was nearly 5 years ago. Nothing to worry about, and the roller coaster of emotions felt once having those BR papers was incredible. You will get ups and downs, but remember you are now debt free, and the hassle from creditors will abate.....eventually.
Gd luck, and let us all know how your interview with the OR goes?

Posted - 25 November 2009 : 15:19:00 It won't be as bad as you're expecting. When I had mine I was ill before hand, but it really wasn't worth stressing over. I know it's easy for me to say though!
The examiner was pleasant enough and it was over and done with in 23 minutes - yes, I can still remember!

Posted - 25 November 2009 : 14:30:36 I'm glad it went well. It's a great relief when it's actually over and done with, and once your interview with the OR is over you can really start to relax x
