Hi all,
Now 7 weeks into BR and all seems ok apart from struggling financially given the time of year. DI leaves me very little for kids presents etc.
Question is I may have an opportunity to work a weekend as a one off and earn about £300 overtime which would really help right now. However at the moment I have no IPA and dont really want to receive one. Is it worth me doing the overtime, do I declare it as it will show on my salary, will they take this toward a future IPA, or do I just ask the OR?
Many thanks for your thoughts and advice
Matt

it depends on the OR whether they want to take any but at least you made the right decision to tell them
Good Luck

Hi Whatamess,

Like you I received a one off payment this month of £100 and I thought I should let RTLU know of this. I was expecting them to say I could keep it as it is such a small amount, but to my surprise, they said they would take 70% of it. That means I will be left with £30 and they said they will add it onto my monthly IPA for one month. I really wish I had not said anything now. The extra money would have been really welcome for Christmas, but being the honest bloke I am, I've ended up worse off to be honest.

Thanks both,
Ive e-mailed the OR to take advice, dont really want to run the risk of IPA just for a one off, rather stay broke!!
Happy days, thanks
Matt

Perhaps an idea to speak to your OR and see what their take is on this?

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

If it is a one off overtime they will not set up a long term IPA, they may ask for part of it as a one of payment though
