We have just submitted my husbands tax return online and are due to pay them £146 by 31st Jan, will we be allowed to pay this once we are BR?

We are ready for BR and have already booked the date.

I think I just worded it wrong

I will write it on my BR forms then, thanks

Hi buzz rock

I may have misunderstood the question but why would you want to pay HMRC

all of your debts could be included in your bankruptcy. HMRC no longer have preferential treatment and are treated the same as any other creditor, A chester has stated you cannot be seen to favouring any creditor in preference to another

are you still paying all of your credit card and loan debts ? If so please speak to one of the experts as you may not be ready fro BR yet

good luck and regards Richard

personally i think that you may be able to use the money for something else, like BR fees

once BR all unsecured debts are included and that includes HMRC you would not be allowed to pay it after BR as it would be seen as favouring a creditor
