Posted - 07 January 2010 : 08:49:52 My husband and I are considering filing bankruptcy. During the review of assists I found out that when I was 10 or 11 year old my parents placed property in my name, but did not use my social security #. I have not benefited from this property, My parents have always paid the taxes but the tax bills were always sent to my parents address and under my maiden name. Again I was unaware of this property and did not benefit, they live on this property and advised they just didn't change the name as it would one day belong to me. Question: what qualifies me as the legal owner of this property and will I be required to claim it as an asset? Is there a legal way to prove to the court that I am not scamming or committing fraud? We live in Texas. Thank you

This forum is for people looking to declare bankruptcy in the UK and, as far as I am aware, people will not have any knowledge regarding US bankruptcy.
