Posted - 12 January 2010 : 13:01:56 If you are on a low income your best first stop is your local Citizens Advice Bureau as they can help you with the forms and provide advice re the vouvher scheme operated by various utility companies (you must have an utility in your name to qualify) also you need to check your debt level if your total unsecured debts are below £15k and your disposible income below £50 and no asstes (other than a car under £1k) you may qulaify for a Debt Releief Order, again this is available through the CAB
If you are in receipt of benefit you usually get the Court fee waived (£150) but will always have to pay the official receivers fee of £360

Posted - 10 January 2010 : 19:58:24 Hi Malcolm and welcome to the forum.
Bankruptcy fees are £360 for the Official Reciever + £150 court fee. The court fee is often waived if you are on some form of benefits.
If you are on a low income then there are some charitable trusts (mostly run by utility companies for some reason) that will sometimes grant you the remaining fees.
