totally lost Posted - 04 June 2009 : 15:21:25
Thanks for all replies.
After 8 years+ struggling with debt and 5 years in DMP and no hope for the future I have now booked my BR day which is later this month.
Spoke to very nice lady at the court and appearantly the rest + OR is very calm and known to be understanding. I just have to hope my case is'nt a difficult one. Here's my I&E. Could anyone give their opinion as to wether it looks acceptable....?

My income £1140

Rent =£550 (this normally includes £130 DMP...?? and covers
all bills-heat-elec-phone-rates-water etc and is not half
by any means)

Petrol=£90
Car tax=£17 (only ever pay 6mnths at a time)
Car insurance=£30
Cat food=£20
Cat ins=£9
Food=£170
Hair=£20
Holiday=£30
Life ins=£7
Car maintenance=£30
Contact lenses=£20
Dental=£20
Prescriptions=£10
Clothes=£30
Mobile=£20
Social(food)=£30

Total outgoing £1101
Left £39

Should I just state rent as £550 and naturally NOT mention any money to DMP...otherwise it will look like I now should have £130 disposable left every month.

Does the OR take into consideration that the debt was incurred NOT recently...ie between 1998-2003/4...???
Have DELETED the word CREDIT from my vocabulary since 2004!!!

Thanks for everyone's help!

Hi,

"Should I just state rent as £550 and naturally NOT mention any money to DMP"

When you declare BR you won't be paying the DMP anymore but if you contribute £550 to the rent then this is what you should put.

Hair=£20 - only £10 is allowed for haircuts

Food=£170 - You could up this to £200 but you will have to put the number of people in the household down on the form. When the OR asks just say that this is the amount you contribute to the food.

Clothes=£30 - You could raise this to £50

Social(food)=£30 - Any social activities need to come out of the DI. If this is meals while at work then you should be ok but change the title.
