Posted - 10 May 2007 : 10:43:05 Going bankrupt a second time has been done for various reasons: a business failure or mental health reasons. There is an automatic search done by the Official Receiver, so you can't hide from the first one. But if the first bankruptcy was more than 15 years ago then it is discounted and wont affect the second one. Anonymously contact the insolvency helpline and ask. The number is:0845 602 9848. They are very helpful and will give further information.
As for 'the cover'. Do you mean how long the restrictions? You can search the inslovency site:https://www.insolvencydirect.gov.uk or again contact the helpline and ask. I do not know what the timescales are for the restrictions on a second bankruptcy.
