Posted - 16 November 2010 : 12:27:21 I am trying to understand the term “Responsible” with respect to an IPA. Will someone who had an IPA setup let me know whether they feel the Official Receiver was generous with what they allowed or were tight. Is it a case of anything more than a minimum wage income will be taken.
Basically what are other people’s experiences of an IPA?
Thanks

Posted - 16 November 2010 : 18:08:23 The OR was fair in my case and allowed me the guideline amount for food, clothing, etc. as well as £30 per month for a domestic break.
Compared to the several months that I was struggling to pay my bills before BR, I am much better off even with paying an IPA each month.

Posted - 16 November 2010 : 13:06:12 I wasn't living in luxury during my IPA, but I was comfortable. My allowances were reasonable (see my blog). Don't forget you will only get an IPA if you have £100 or more left per month after your bills and living expenses.
