Morning all,

25 days and counting, left until discharge. Can't believe its been a year since I declared myself bankrupt. Can anyone tell me what happens next? will I appear on the insolvency website as discharged and how do I go about getting a certificate of my discharge from the court? I have an IPA, so I have just over another 2 years to go on that. I know I shouldn't jump the gun just yet, but I was fully expecting to get a BRU, but have not heard anything so far. From what I've heard, they need to tell you 6 weeks prior to discharge if you have a BRU, so hopefully I have been lucky and won't get one now.

Hi,

I have to say the same as Richard P.

Do not waste money - it tends to be slimey finance companies such as Very, Shop Direct and Littlewoods that say ..." we must have the discharge certificate..." Sorry, that is not necesssary in my view.

Good luck Richard

most lenders / creditors will accept the copy of insolvency web site notice

try that way first and if the creditors are being anal then reluctantly spend the money

I`m due for an automatic discharge in early March aswell, I`m counting down the days! Regarding a certificate, you`ll have to apply to the court that dealt with your case and will cost £60.00 plus £1 for every copy after that - having said that my wife was speaking to the OR the other day and they said they will write to me if required to say that I`m discharged and although we didnt ask, there was no mention of cost - but otherwise theres nothing apart from the discharge details on the insolvency register website...
