Hi, I''''m fairly sure that I am doing the right thing by going Bankrupt but would like some advice. I owe approx £25000 in loans and credit cards. I earn £1270 per month and my out goings for these debts amount to £680. I then pay approx £300 a month on fuel, I work 40 miles away, 80 mile round trip. £180 on food, £14 car ins, £10 car tax, £30 clothes, £45 mobile phone, £40 catalogues, £32 sky, £5 internet. I also have to pay rent, and this is where I have a problem. I live with my mother, she pays all the house hold bills, bar the ones mentioned above. I pay her £450 per month rent. Money she cant afford to keep the house without.
My questions are, how do I go about putting this on the form?
Will I have to provide proof of this, I dont really want her to know about my bancruptcy?
The reason for me not doing this sooner is that my ex has been supporting me for the last 6 years. Q 11.1 asks when I started having difficulties. Should I put the date 6 yr ago or last month when we split up?
Ihave filled out most of the form and am ready to call the court. Should I tell them that I have the form ready? What do I say?
Sorry for so much. I'm very confused.

Hi

as Paul said it will probably be fine if you explain properly that you pay rent.

But it does not matter that you are not mentioned on the deeds or mortgage, an interest can still in the right circumstances be proven in law.

Thanks for the replys. It is my mothers house and she does have a mortgage. My contribution is towards the house hold expenses and rent. I am not tied to the mortgage in any way.

certainly worth a call to the helpline but I suspect that if you show this contribution to your mon as rent ( which it no doubt is) rather than help towards the mortgage then it will probably be just fine.

call the helpline to chat about it

Hi

are you saying that your mother owns the property and that it is mortgaged?

If this is so beware and please read on.
You would need to speak to someone at the helpline and go over the full detail but it's possible you may have a proprietary interest in the property which in bankruptcy could place your Mum's home at risk.

Please speak to an expert first.
