Hi,

I had the same problem and I ignored the calls until I went bankrupt, then I sent a copy of my BR to every company still trying to get hold of me. There was one company (HSBC) that just wouldn't leave me alone so when I finally answered the phone this foreign guy was telling me how much I owe them and that I need to go to my nearest branch to sort it out. I told him that it wasn't in my hands any more and that I was bankrupt and if he wanted to sort it out then they needed to go through my OR but he didn't understand and kept repeating himself. I got very frustrated so in the end I had a quick go at him, told him to leave me alone then I hung up on him. I know it wasn't the right thing to do but I was just so frustrated! I then ignored them until they stopped. Apart from that it was ok :)

I personally would never advise a client to give false information in dealing with a creditor caller.

These people lent the money in good faith and therefore it is courteous to politely deal with their enquiries - as frustrating as it might be when you feel they are not reacting to the information you have provided.

And there is not long to go now before your hearing, so the end is in sight!

Hi S5,

Welcome to the forum,

Try not to let them put you under too much pressure.
Remember if you are declaring yourself Bankrupt it is not you that has the problem it's them as they are unlikely to get paid!

Unfortunately it will continue until you have gone Bankrupt and can give them your Bankruptcy number.

If it is causing you a great deal of stress next time they ring and go through the security questions give them the wrong information that way they won't be able to talk to you.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
